Saphaa Dolalghat – Clean Dolalghat was an environmental education campaign in Dolalghat, Nepal, in collaboration with the Kali Ma Foundation Nepal e.V. and the local authorities. In 2014 we worked together with the local population of Dolalghat to raise awareness and knowledge about littering, waste managament, recycling and clean environment (especially water) with workshops, clean-up days, a film event, and a demonstration. We initiated a local waste collection and created jobs for 4 people (waste collectors).
Clean-Up Days
Cleaning up the riverbanks of Dolalghat. Collecting the littered waste, burning paper on place, separating plastic and glass for recycling.
Waste Management Workshops and Waste Collection
Conducting workshops about waste collection, waste separation and recycling. Initiating a waste collection for the households (with a Riksha).
Film Event, Demonstration and School Visits
Holding a demonstration in the village for keeping the environment clean, visiting schools, and showing movies.
