Meet Ashell Maenetja, a young agriculturalist and communal cattle farmer in Limpopo, South Africa, who is happy and keen on building, supporting, and strenghtening his local cattle farmer community. Ashell has many ideas to improve the situation in his community. One focus point is to build and strengthen collaboration, drifting away from individualism.
In collaboration with Mike Hansen, regenerative farmer, activist and artist from Ozark Akerz Regenerative Farm, I’ve created a T-Shirt and Bonfire campaign to support Ashell in his efforts to purchase livestock identification equipment to start his own agricultural advisor business. Thanks to the campaign and our efforts on LinkedIn Ashell could start his own business in 2024.

In the meantime Ashell has gained much confidence and support. He was invited as a speaker at a agriculture conference, got a funding from the agricultural department and was nominated for a professional young adult prize.
